Who am I?
By Alex Honey
I hold your bags when you don't need them.
When it comes to winter time I am generous to keep your coats and boots.
I keep your lunch bags safe from the bullies.
I am full, my stomach hurts.
I keep your things 'till the end of the year.
I am not your room.
You guys left me all alone.
I can't hold your things any more.
Who am I, you ask? I am the Coat Closet. Please empty me! I'll see you guys next year!
All items not claimed from the Coat Closet by July will be donated to the Salvation Army.
Running Bears Begin their second season
In the fall, the Running Bears will begin the second season of KWoods Cross Country! Students who are interested in running can get a head start this summer by training with members of the team on weekly Fun Runs throughout the area.
If you are interested in running Cross Country in the fall, contact Mrs. Pratt (the coach) at jpratt@kwoods.org or click here for more information.
KEnsington Woods Drama Camp
This summer, Kensington Woods Drama Club is hosting the first annual Kensington Woods High School Drama Camp! KWHS Drama Camp (for grades 9-12) is a two week course of study for the serious young actor in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Students will be immersed in the fundamentals of actor preparation: scene study, movement, voice, monologues, acting technique and more! Our objective is to help students harness their talents to their fullest potential in a setting that is nurturing and fosters teamwork.
The KWHS Drama Camp will be held from August 10-21 (M-F) from 8am-4pm. Drama Camp is open to anybody entering grades 9-12, whether a student at KWHS or not! For more information, click here or email dramaclub@kwoods.org!
All school campout
The 4th Annual KWHS Campout will be held August 30 - September 1 (NOTE: the dates on the fliers at the Open House on June 9 had the wrong dates). This year the campout is open to all students, not just freshmen, because so many students want to do it again! We will camp for two nights in the Mason Tract Wilderness near Grayling, MI, and canoe for one day on the beautiful South Branch of the Ausable River, known as the holy water to fly fishermen.
The campout is a great way to make friends, meet staff members, relax before school begins, and enjoy the great outdoors. New KWHS students are especially encouraged to attend. Parents are welcome and siblings are welcome with a parent. The cost is $45 per person which includes a KWHS T-shirt. Click here for more information.
