KWoods Artwork Purchased as part of St. Joseph Hospital Permanent Collection

This spring, two KWoods students, Courtney Ferranti and Eryca Cottle, received recognition for their artwork that was purchased for the St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital Permanent Collection as part of their annual student artwork contest. Honorable Mention was also given to Morgan Carrigan and Eryca Cottle.
KWHS Senior Julie Franck Places in the 2011 Michigan Statistics Poster Competition!
In the first week of March, students in Mrs. Pollman's Advanced Algebra 2 & Trigonometry class submitted statistics posters for the 2011 Michigan Statistics Poster Competition. This contest is sponsored by the Department of Statistics and the Regional Math and Science Center at Grand Valley State University. The posters are judged by officials from GVSU and the results were made official last week. Congratulations to Senior Julie Franck for receiving 3rd place in the 10-12 grade level category, as well as a cash prize!

KWoods Teachers featured in Mathematics Teacher
Congratulations go to Mr. Picking and Ms. Garber. The article that they wrote together, Exploring Algebra and Geometry Concepts with GeoGebra, was published in the October, 2010 issue of Mathematics Teacher. Mathematics Teacher is an official journal of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. You can read the article here.
Kensington Woods Student Accepted into Lansing Community College Leadership Program
KWoods Class of 2010 student, Kyle Finn, was accepted into the Lansing Community College Student Leadership Academy. No more than 23 students are accepted each year. Student Leadership Academy members serve on campus and community councils and committees, participate in community service programs and participate is special leadership courses. Members are also awarded significant scholarships.
