Students to receive academic honor

Six Livingston County students are scheduled to receive Congressional Medals of Merit at the state Capitol Friday afternoon.
The honorees: Jacob Price, Brighton High School; Chris Chase, Hartland High School; Robert Hindy, Fowlerville High School; Eric Stants, Kensington Woods High School; Marco Tori, Pinckney Community High School and Kaitlyn Charette, Howell High School.
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, awarded the graduating seniors their honors. In order to be eligible for the honor, students must have met the congressman’s criteria, which included academic excellence and exemplary citizenship.

Six Livingston County students will receive the Congressional Medal of Merit on Friday at the Michigan Capitol. The award recognizes students for their academic, community and civic achievements.
The students are Jacob Price from Brighton High School, Chris Case from Hartland High School, Robert Hindy from Fowlerville High School, Eric Stants from Kensington Woods High School, Marco Tori from Pinckney Community High School and Kaitlyn Charette from Howell High School.
The award ceremony will be at 3 p.m. in the House Appropriations room on the third floor of the State Capitol in Lansing.
